OMAHA, Nebraska — Michael Brinegar capped his U.S. Olympic Trials week with a 40th-place finish in the 1,500-meter freestyle.
Brinegar, who will be a junior at Columbus North, finished in 15 minutes, 40.07 seconds. He moved up from his No. 43 seed.
Only the top eight of the 97 entrants made the finals. Connor Jaeger had the fastest qualifying time at 14:58.59.
