Cummins celebrates launch of new diesel engine line

Cummins officials celebrated the introduction of the company’s new 2017 product line of diesel engines by inviting employees to a launch party today in downtown Columbus. Product teams unveiled each of the engines and employees were treated to lunch and T-shirts that proclaimed “I Am Powering What’s Next.”

Speakers included Srikanth Padmanabhan, Cummins Engine Business president, Tracy Embree, Components Business president and Jennifer Rumsey, Chief Technical Officer.

Columbus residents are invited to see a display of the new product line, a 1952 Indy 500 pole-winning No. 28 race car, a Dodge Ram truck and a fire engine powered by a Cummins engine and to tour the “Redefining Tour” show trucks this afternoon from 1 to 4 p.m. It’s free.

Jackson Street between Fifth and Seventh streets and Sixth street behind the Irwin Office Building has been blocked off for the displays.
