• Columbus for being the best community overall in which I have ever lived and been involved.

• the postman who found the contaminated needle on the ground and stayed by it until the police arrived so that children wouldn’t touch it.

• The Fitted Foot store in Columbus for getting me a pair of shoes for my complicated feet.

• Hackman’s Market for having the best sweet corn every year.

• everyone who pulled over for the funeral procession on Taylor Road on Monday afternoon.

• Mrs. Redman for stopping to help me get my dad up off the ground when he fell Tuesday, from Brenda.

• Mrs. Matthews and her friend for checking on us after my dad fell in the yard, from Brenda.

• Dr. Guse and Dr. Miller for my excellent care during and after surgery at Columbus Regional Hospital, and to the rest of the team that took care of me.

• the person who claimed that one of his favorite things about Columbus is the Onions in The Republic.

• the person who left a contaminated needle on the ground where children could find it.

• the driver of the maroon SUV who ran a red light going out of Columbus on U.S. 31 late Tuesday night.

• the person who can’t understand my Onion was about a group of women, not one trained individual.

• city leaders who continually spend money and can’t understand the mathematical calculations why we come up short.

• whoever stole my Adidas sandals from my driveway on Griffa Avenue.

• The Republic for getting rid of the newspaper machine at the corner of Seventh and Gladstone.

• the nonprofit organization that shows no respect or appreciation for the hard work the employees put in to keep the doors open.

• people who use living room furniture in the yard as patio furniture.
