He brings his latest installment, “Legends of American Music,” to The Commons, 300 Washington St., in Columbus at 7:30 p.m. today as part of the Cabaret at The Commons series. The 75-minute concert will include material from Louis Armstrong to Elvis Presley to James Taylor. Tickets are $20, $35 and $55, with food and drinks available. Information: 812-376-2638.
Especially in the past 15 years, I have become a big believer in some elements of homeopathic health. Registered homeopath and certified nutritionist Katia Martinho sees at least one of her callings as education. So she will offer the free presentation, “Homeopathy: A Holistic Approach to Health,” at 6 p.m Jan. 23 in the Red Room of the Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St. in Columbus. I’m uncertain I ever had seen Columbus crowds crazily whoop and shout over dance the way they did the first time I watched “Dancing With the Stars … Columbus Style.” But the annual event that normally sells out two shows at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center still stirs plenty of reaction — and all to help Children Inc. and Family School Partners. The set-up: Local dance instructors perform with local notables from a variety of fields in the community. Shows are at 2 and 8 p.m. Information: dwtscolumbus.com.
