Helen B. Jones, 76, of Columbus, died at 11:57 p.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at her home.
She was born on September 23, 1940, in Covington, Kentucky, to Thomas and Myrtle (Brown) Kidd. She married Jack Jones on January 2, 1996.
Helen worked at Scooter’s Restaurant for 30 years. She was a people person and enjoyed talking with everyone. Most recently she worked as a greeter at Sam’s Club. Helen loved traveling with her husband.
The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 21, 2017, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor John Marquis officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice of charities through the funeral home.
Helen is survived by her husband, Jack; daughters, Rhonda (Ronnie) Graves of Stanford, Kentucky, Barbara (Jeff) Kerr of Russell Springs, Kentucky, Beverly (Byron) Ramos of Apollo Beach, Florida and Lisa (Mike Grube) Dampier of Columbus, Indiana; a step-son, Jack (Tonya) Jones II of Trafalgar, Indiana; a step-daughter, Tina (Tony) Sichting of Nineveh, Indiana; and a sister, Carol Jean Pittman of Crab Orchard, Kentucky; and eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Paul Ray Kidd and Thomas Kidd Jr.; and uncle, Elmer Denney.
