Bull Dogs top Panthers

BLOOMINGTON — Columbus North put up its highest score of the season Thursday night in posting a 111.5-108.95 win at Bloomington South.

Claire Thompson edged teammate Ashley Holliday 37.525-37.5 to win the all-around. North’s Sami Heathcote finished third with a 36.475.

Holliday won the vault (9.75) and bars (9.4) and took third on the beam (9.1) and fourth on the floor (9.25). Thompson won the beam (9.625) and was second on the bars (9.3) and fourth on the vault (9.425). Heathcote finished second on the beam (9.125) and third on the vault (9.45).

“We made a few tweaks and adjustments,” North co-coach Sandy Freshour said. “Our kids are coming along. The younger ones are just rising to the call and getting better and better.”
