The Litter Box Kitty Rescue, a Taylorsville-based nonprofit, volunteer organization, is hosting its adoption event from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Petco, 1337 N. National Road, Columbus.
The public can come and enjoy goodies from the bake sale and the Valentine’s Day pet photo booth, where 4×6 photos will be printed while they wait.
Attendees are encouraged to bring gently used shoes to help Columbus East High School student Tessa McClain with her senior project, a shoe drive. The shoes will be donated to the Shoes for Shelters campaign, which mends shoes and sends them overseas to the less fortunate. If enough shoes are donated, The Litter Box Kitty Rescue will receive a grant.
All proceeds from the bake sale, photo booth and adoptions will go toward medical care, such as spay/neuter surgeries, for Litter Box cats.
