Additional dates set for flag football registration

Columbus Youth Flag Football will have additional registration from 1 to 3 p.m. today at Fair Oaks Mall.

The CYFF Spring Camp will be March 6 to 9 from 5:30 to 6 p.m. for boys and girls in pre-kindergarten through Grade 2 and from 6 to 7:30 p.m. for boys and girls in Grades 3 to 6 at Columbus North High School. The season will run from March 26 to May 7.

Kids can try broomball for free at Hamilton Center

Hamilton Center Ice Arena will open the small ice from 4 to 5 p.m. today for any child who would like to try broomball.

All ages are welcome, and there is no cost. If there is enough interest, a junior league may be started.

Baseball registration available at Ceraland

Friday is the online registration deadline for 2017 Bartholomew County Youth Baseball. Saturday will be the evaluation day, and walk-in registrations will be accepted that day at Ceraland.

Parents can contact Ceraland directly to register their kids. April 30 is the date for age cutoffs this year.

Indiana football coach to speak at FCA event

Indiana University football coach Tom Allen will be the featured speaker at the Southern Indiana Fellowship of Christian Athletes’ “Huddle up with FCA” event at 7 p.m. March 5 at Redemption Church in Jasper.

The event is free and open to the public. Country/Gospel artist Kirby Stailey will provide musical entertainment.

Parkside will host Emerge 19: Aftermath

Emerge 19: Aftermath will be at 7 p.m. Saturday at Parkside Elementary. Doors will open at 6 p.m.

Hoosier Pro Wrestling to return to Fairgrounds

The Bartholomew County 4-H Fairgrounds will host Hoosier Pro Wrestling’s “March Mayhem” at 7:45 p.m. Saturday. Doors will open at 7 p.m.

Edinburgh hosting camp for elementary girls

The Edinburgh Lady Lancers Elementary Basketball Camp will be March 6, 7 and 9 at the high school for girls in Grades K through 8.

Grades kindergarten through 6 will be from 4:30 to 6 p.m. all three days, and Grades 7 and 8 will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. March 6 and 7.

Cost is $35 for Grades K through 6 and $25 for Grades 7 and 8 and includes a T-shirt.

Flag football league to register teams

Registration for the Columbus Flag Football League Spring 2017 season will be March 17 at Fourth Street Bar and Grill.

Fees are $550 for the men’s league and $350 for the women’s league. The season will begin April 2.

Zeller Family Program coming to Whiteland

Clark Pleasant Middle School in Whiteland will host DistinXion, a Zeller Family Program, on March 18 and 19.

The basketball camp is for boys and girls of all skill levels entering Grades 2 to 8. Registration is $69 before March 1 and $89 beginning March 1.

Association offering program for officials

The Indiana Officials Association is offering a program for individuals interested in officiating high school and youth football.

Applicants must register and pay a fee by June 7. The fee includes IOA membership, materials and instruction. Officials also must join the IHSAA and pay the licensing fee and will receive rule books and other materials.

There will be rules and mechanics study from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays in June and July 12 and 19 at Lawrence North High School.

Kids still can sign up for Scipio Baseball

Scipio Baseball signups will continue from noon to 2 p.m. March 5 at Scipio Fieldhouse for boys and girls ages 4 and older.

Registration is $20 for the first player and $15 for each additional player in the same household. Age ranges will be divided as signup numbers allow.
