Leland R. “Lee” Strellner, 90, of Columbus, died at 4:06 a.m. Friday, March 17, 2017, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Lee was born in Van Horne, Iowa, November 15, 1926. He was the son of Carl W. and Margaret P. Henkel Strellner. He married Madonna Northrup May 30, 1947, in Lafayette. She preceded him in death November 12, 2010.
He was a graduate of Van Horne High School and Purdue University. He was the retired president of K.T. Corp in Shelbyville, an aircraft parts manufacturer. He enjoyed building model ships and airplanes. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by daughters, Marcia (Les) Augustyn of Illinois and Sheri (Jeff) Schultz of Columbus; grandchildren, Diana Lashbrook, Keith G. Barnes, Christie R. Hess, Amanda Nicole (Patrick) Barnes Smith, Breanna (James) Barnes, Jamie Barnes, Megan (Jon) Franz and Jessica Schultz; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded by his parents; wife; and daughter, Linda Donaldson.
Funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peters Lutheran Church. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street and from 10 a.m. to service time Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Garland Brook Cemetery.
