Food Co-op plans Central Avenue grocery store

COLUMBUS, Indiana — The Columbus Food Co-op plans to open a long-planned grocery store in a renovated warehouse at 1580 Central Avenue.

The announcement was made during the co-op’s annual meeting Wednesday evening.

The member-owned co-op has been working to increase public access to locally sourced food. It anticipates that more than 50 local farmers and producers will provide items such as meat and produce once the store opens next year.
