Bartholomew County residents put their patriotism on display during Memorial Day weekend at four events that honored military veterans, particularly ones that died during their service to the United States. The first was the annual Salute! concert May 26 on the lawn of the Bartholomew County Memorial for Veterans, which drew about 2,000 people to hear the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic lead renditions of patriotic songs. The others were Monday on Memorial Day: the tossing of rose petals into East Fork White River from the Robert N. Stewart Bridge; a ceremony at Garland Brook Cemetery; and the Community Memorial Day service at the Bartholomew County Memorial for Veterans. Here is another look at the events.
