Julie Greene, a Bartholomew County government employee from Edinburgh, took this photo of an approaching thunderstorm Wednesday night from a half mile north of Edinburgh Premium Outlets off Interstate 65. Greene’s mother, Debbie, said her daughter took the photo with her cellphone as the two walked out of the house about 7:30 p.m. The Columbus city utilities reported Thursday morning that rain gauges at the city’s water plant recorded 2.78 inches of rain in the 24-hour period ending at 7 a.m. Thursday. The National Weather Service is continuing its flood warning for Bartholomew County and northern Jennings County after estimating that 3 to 4 inches of rain had fallen by Thursday morning. Cities within the flood warning area include Columbus, North Vernon, Hope, Elizabethtown, Hartsville, Jonesville, Hayden, Newbern, Butlerville, Azalia and Country Squire Lakes.
