Cooper Trinkle’s high school baseball career isn’t finished after all.
The recent Columbus North graduate has been selected to play in this year’s North-South All-Star Series on July 15 and 16 at Ball State. The teams will play a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. July 15 and a single wooden-bat game at noon the following day.
“It’s been a goal of mine ever since I was a freshman,” Trinkle said. “It will be awesome to play with all the guys I’ve played with in summer ball since I was about 12 years old. It’s going to be so much fun.”
Trinkle, who is headed to University of Evansville, led the Bull Dogs to sectional and regional titles this season and a berth in the final four in Class 4A. The second baseman led North with a .463 average, two home runs and 29 RBIs.
Columbus East assistant coach John Major will be an assistant for the South squad.
