Bartholomew County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a local woman after being called to a gas station about shoplifting.
Sheriff Deputy Sgt. Kris Weisner was sent to the Taylorsville Circle K at 12:11 a.m. Thursday.
He and Indiana State Police Trooper Korry Clark saw a female walking through the parking lot being followed by a store clerk, deputies said.
The woman was identified as Danielle N. Hurley, 26, of 1808 Maple St., deputies said. Hurley told the officers she had taken items from the store, and following several commands to put her bag down, she dropped the bag and began to run, deputies said.
She was caught and arrested on charges of possession of legend drug injection devices, resisting law enforcement and conversion, deputies said.
Officers found a wallet and an eyeglass case with three used syringes inside and a spoon with burned residue, deputies said. Hurley told officers she had used heroin earlier prior to Thursday morning’s incident.
