Columbus police arrested two local residents on drug-related charges after responding to a trespassing complaint.
Officers Angie Owens and Frank Dickman were sent to the 50 block of Carr Hill Road at 1:50 p.m. Monday, said officer Alyson Rech, Columbus Police Department spokeswoman.
Officers spoke with Franklin E. Byars, 34, 811 Pearl St., and Brandy L. Jenkins, 29, 2355 W. Tellman Road, who were inside a store, Rech said.
While searching Jenkins, officers found a metal tin containing methamphetamine and a glass smoking pipe, which she had concealed in her clothing, Rech said.

Officers also found a small amount of methamphetamine in Byars’ pants pocket, Rech said.
Byars was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine and criminal trespass, while Jenkins was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia and criminal trespass, Rech said.
Byars was released from the Bartholomew County Jail after posting $57,500 bond, jail officials said. Jenkins was released from jail after posting $115,000 bond, jail officials said.
