With 31 rides and attractions to choose from, the lure of the county fair midway can be too much to resist. All nine days of the 60th annual Bartholomew County 4-H Fair, thousands succumbed to the thrills of the rides, games and food provided by Burton Brothers Amusements of Shirley, Indiana. The fair wraps up today, when the midway features
unlimited rides from 5 p.m. to close for $23. Here’s a sampling of the midway’s most appealing moments captured by Republic photographer Mike Wolanin.

Brownsville will use $19.5 million in American Rescue Plan Act funds to build a fiber network, allowing for public-private partnerships to provide last-mile services, or connections to homes and businesses. The middle-mile infrastructure, which comes first, will create a minimum broadband capacity of 100 megabits citywide and is projected to be completed in 24 months, according to the city.
