Cummins Inc. has elected two new officials to its board of directors.
Karen Quintos, executive vice president and chief customer officer for Dell Technologies Inc. and Rich Freeland, president and chief operating officer for Cummins Inc. are the newest additions to the company’s board.
In her role as chief customer officer, Quintos leads a global organization devoted to customer advocacy. Quintos is responsible for setting and executing a total customer experience strategy to drive customer success. As part of this role, she also leads diversity and inclusion, corporate responsibility and entrepreneurship strategy and programs for Dell.
While at Dell, Quintos has served as senior vice president and chief marketing officer, vice president of public sector marketing and North America commercial marketing, and held executive roles in services, support and supply chain management.

As president and chief operating officer, Freeland oversees Cummins’ daily operations. Freeland joined Cummins in 1979 and has held roles with the company that include plant manager of the Diesel ReCon Plant in Memphis, Tennessee; plant manager of the Columbus Engine Plant in Columbus; president of the distribution, components and engine business units for Cummins.
Their elections were made by the Cummins board of directors at its July 11 meeting, when the board also increased the quarterly cash dividend on common stock from $1.025 per share to $1.08 per share, payable on Sept. 1 to shareholders of record as of Aug. 18.
