Nancy Lee Coffey Gabbard, known simply as “Mamaw” to the many who loved her, age 72, of Deltona, Florida, formerly of Columbus, Indiana, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at Fish Memorial Hospital in Orange City, Florida.

She was born in Columbia, Kentucky, on June 6, 1945, to the late Finis and Annie (Sneed) Coffey. She married Herman Gabbard on September 21, 1963, in Columbus, Indiana. Their legacy of hard work, respect for others and love for family continues on through their children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren.

Nancy was retired from the Environmental Services department at Columbus Regional Hospital. She looked forward to weekend NASCAR races to cheer on her favorite driver, Chase Elliott. She loved playing euchre and bingo and watching a good western or game show on TV.

She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by a son, Jeff (Anita) Gabbard of Winter Springs, Florida; two daughters, Tina (Bruce) Johnson of Oviedo, Florida, and Lisa (Mark) Bush of Columbus. One of the great joys of her life was spending time with her eleven grandchildren, Scott (Kesha) Freeman, Amanda Gabbard, Jessica (Jeremy) Carnes, Daniel Gabbard, Preston Johnson, Clayton Johnson, Logan Bush, Amelia Bush, Emilee Trosper, Corbin Bush and Chance Bush; and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Lorene Brown of Columbus, and several nieces and nephews along with many other family and friends.

She now rejoices in heaven with her parents, her husband, her brother Ernest Coffey, and her sister, Geneva Noe.

A life well lived will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 29, at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Al White officiating.Family and friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday.Inurnment will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
