Hoosier named to U.S. pork board

The National Pork Board has some Indiana flavor to it with the appointment of a Greenfield pork producer.

Heather Hill, co-owner of Hill Farms, was one of five appointments made by U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue in November. She will serve a three-year term.

The board, composed of 15 pork producers, collects the National Pork Checkoff funds and utilizes the money to implement programs of promotion, research and consumer information designed to enhance the marketing of U.S. pork and pork products, according to the National Pork Checkoff website.
