COLUMBUS
Florence J. Perkins, 91, of Columbus, passed from this life at 5:15 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2018 at Silver Oaks Health Campus in Columbus.
Mrs. Perkins was a jewelry buyer and later retired from The Fashion Shop.
The funeral will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Jonathan Moore Pike with the Rev. F. Doran Chambers officiating.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday and 9:00 a.m. to time of service.
Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Florence was born December 13, 1926 in Richmond, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Vernon and Mary Jane Benton Griggs.
She married Squire Elton Perkins on February 9, 1946. He preceded her in death on March 10, 1987.
Survivors include her daughters, Joyce Perkins of Columbus, Linda Burton of Edinburgh and Karen Haire of Edinburgh; grandchildren, Stacey (David) Ware, Brian (Kelly) Abett, Robert (Celia) Abett and Matthew (Michelle) Armstrong; 12 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Stella Cobb of Richmond, Kentucky and Jean Tucker of Richmond, Kentucky; and a brother, Vernon Griggs of Selma, Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Vannie Griggs, Carl Griggs, Frank Griggs, Calvin Griggs and Bailey Griggs; and a sister, Gretta Villati.
