East Fork White River at Columbus and Seymour began receding after flooding closed dozens of roads and Gov. Mitch Daniels visited Seymour to survey flood damage.

Columbus East’s girls gymnastics team finished third at the state gymnastics championships, and East’s Jazz Inc. jazz band scored the best in Group 2 at the Indiana State School Music Association State Jazz Band and Contest, the only band in their classification to receive a superior or division one rating.
