Casper Clark, Columbus North sophomore baseball player

Clark threw a two-hitter and went 2-for-3 with an RBI to lead the Bull Dogs to a 9-1 win against Franklin in the second game of Saturday’s doubleheader. He had a two-run double in a 5-4, eight-inning loss in the opener.

His performance last week: “I didn’t know what to expect the first game of the season on the mound, but I’m completely happy with my performance.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “I really try to buckle down and focus. I took a lot of time out on the field stretching, making sure my legs were stretched out and ready to go.”

Favorite drink: “Milk. I drink it with everything.”

Favorite food: “Chicken fettuccine”

Favorite book: “’Relentless’ by Tim S. Grover”

Favorite class: “Weight training”

Role model: “My brother Calvin”

Best advice: “A team is only great when no one cares who gets the credit.”

Athletics goal: “I want to be All-State, and I also want to win a state championship”

If you could travel anywhere: “Probably Bora Bora. I’ve seen pictures of it with the beaches and clear water, and it seems pretty cool.”

Jenna Robbins, Columbus East sophomore softball player

Robbins went 4-for-5 with a double, a home run and three RBIs to lead the Olympians to a 15-12 win at Bloomington South in the second game of Saturday’s doubleheader. She went 2-for-3 in a 10-7 win in the opener.

Her performance last week: “I feel pretty good about it. I did a lot better than I thought I would, because I was really nervous because I didn’t start last year. It was kind of nerve-racking, but the team played good.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “On the bus rides, we try to stay pumped up, and I just try to mentally prepare myself and think to myself that I can do it.”

Favorite drink: “Gatorade”

Favorite food: “Pizza”

Favorite book: “‘The Hunger Games’ series”

Favorite class: “Math”

Role model: “My sister Ashlyn”

Best advice: “Try and think positive.”

Athletics goal: “Train hard, work hard and try to get a scholarship to play in college.”

If you could travel anywhere: “To Florida to watch a Gators game.”
