Trinity drops opener

RISING SUN — Rising Sun took advantage of 13 Trinity Lutheran errors Wednesday to post a 12-1, five-inning victory in the Cougars’ season-opener.

Noah Voelker had an infield hit and scored on a Jake VonDielingen RBI single in the third-inning for Trinity’s lone run. VonDielingen took the loss, despite not allowing a hit or an earned run in two innings.

Shiners blank Cougars

RISING SUN — Trinity Lutheran endured its first loss of the season, an 8-0 setback at Rising Sun.

Jaryn Holtsclaw had two hits, including a double for the Cougars (1-1). Morgan Gabbard allowed nine hits in taking the loss.

TRACK AND FIELD

Lancers take fourth

INDIANAPOLIS — Edinburgh’s boys and girls both finished fourth in the Indianapolis Lutheran Invitational.

Trinity Tatlock won the long jump with a leap of 14 feet, 2 1/2 inches, and Taylor Tatlock took the discus with a throw of 102-0 to lead the Lancer girls.

Edinburgh’s lone boys competitor, Isaiah Estes, finished fourth in the 1,600 meters.
