COLUMBUS
Robert D. Anderson, 89, of Columbus, passed from this life at 2:35 p.m. Sunday, April 8, 2018, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Bob retired as a machine repairman from General Motors Company in 1982 where he had served for 30 years.
He was a member of Community Church of Columbus and was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
The funeral will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Kevin Metz officiating.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and 10:00 a.m. to time of service Friday.
Burial will be at Ohio Chapel Cemetery with military honors presented by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard.

Bob was born October 12, 1928, in Columbus. He was the son of Oscar L. and Helen Reedy Anderson.
He married Nona J. Lunsford on June 18, 1949. She preceded him in death on April 30, 2003.
He later married, Rita Balbuze Murray on May 2, 2005.
Survivors include his second wife; his children, James L. Anderson of Columbus, Cathy J. (Clarence) Clubb of Columbus and Christie S. (Dan) Baugues of Ellettsville; grandchildren, Travis (Ashley) Anderson, Kara Anderson, Jennifer (Mark) Holtman, Bobbie (Chris) Coers, Elizabeth (Matt) Stancik and Matthew Gates; seven great-grandchildren; a stepson, Mark (Carol) Murray of Ohio; stepdaughter, Theresa Murray of Tennessee; three stepgrandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife; two sisters, Joan Henry and Charlotte McKinney; and a grandson, Justin Anderson.
