9 people arrested in drug bust

RIPLEY COUNTY — Indiana State Police arrested nine individuals, including several from Bartholomew and Jennings counties, on drug-related charges after an investigation into drug-dealing at a Holton residence.

The arrests happened Thursday just after noon when Indiana State Police troopers went to a residence at 168 S. Marion St., Holton, to conduct a follow up investigation, said Sgt. Stephen Wheeles, state police spokesman from the Versailles post.

When entering the home and speaking with the homeowners, troopers observed drug use in plain view, Wheeles said. Troopers received a search warrant for the property from Ripley Circuit Court and located methamphetamine, suspected marijuana, syringes, drug paraphernalia and a large amount of currency, Wheeles said.

The homeowners, Kathy Hardesty, 52, and Josie Robbins, 27, were arrested on charges of dealing in methamphetamine and other drug-related charges.
