Bull Dogs top Falcons
INDIANAPOLIS — Jakob Meyer allowed five hits and struck out eight in 5 2/3 innings and went 2 for 3 with three RBIs Tuesday to lead Columbus North to a 7-2 Conference Indiana win at Perry Meridian.
Adam Chapman struck out one and did not allow a hit over the final 1 1/3 for the Bull Dogs (5-2, 2-0).
Austin Bode went 2 for 3 for North. Casper Clark went 2 for 4 with two doubles.
Olympians roll to win
SHELBYVILLE — Alec Burnett, Kaden Wise and Parker Harrison combined on a two-hitter in Columbus East’s 9-1 win at Shelbyville.
Burnett allowed two hits and struck out seven in five innings. Wise struck out two in a hitless sixth, and Harrison fanned one in a hitless seventh.
Jonah Wichman went 2 for 4 with a double for the Olympians (3-2). Conner Barkes had two RBIs.
Stars blank Panthers
BEDFORD — Jennings County was limited to two hits in an 8-0 Hoosier Hills Conference loss at Bedford North Lawrence.
Duncan Rodxa and Chase Reason combined on a six-hitter for the Panthers (0-2, 0-1).
Eagles topple Clovers
NASHVILLE — Grant Suding did not allow an earned run and struck out nine in six innings to lead Brown County to a 7-4 Western Indiana Conference win against Cloverdale.
Jake Riehl went 3 for 4 for the Eagles (2-5, 1-1) Isaac Weddle went 2 for 4 with two doubles.
TRACK AND FIELD
East boys victorious
SHELBYVILLE — Columbus East’s boys pulled out a tri-meet victory at Shelbyville. The Olympians scored 80 points to 73 for Shelbyville and 14 for Southwestern (Shelby).
Winners for East were Zarrien Johnson Bey in the high jump, Crase Bergman in the high jump, Eli Edwards in the shot put, Zach Clark in the discus, Owen Rupp in the 110-meter hurdles and Cody Horner in the 100.
Shelbyville won the girls meet with 95 points to 67 for the Olympians and five for Southwestern. East’s Emily Stiles won the 100 hurdles (17.3 seconds) and 300 hurdles (54.1). Kristen Lyons took the 1,600 (6:10), and Lizzy Frazier captured the 800 (2:43).
Panthers sweep tri meet
GREENSBURG — Jennings County’s boys and girls swept a tri meet at Greensburg.
The Panthers won the boys meet with 97 points to 43 for Greensburg and 30 for South Dearborn. Jennings girls scored 84 points to 51 for Greensburg and 31 for South Dearborn.
Carter Leak led the Panther boys with wins in the 1,600 (4:59.9) and 3,200 (10:34.4). Benton Hamman took the high jump (5-8), Ryan Gasper captured the 400 (56.5), Isaiah Ertel won the 300 hurdles and Jacob Corya took the 200. Jennings swept the 4×800, 4×100 and 4×400 relays.
Alexis Harsh led the girls with wins in the long jump (15-8 1/2, 100 (13.3) and 200 (28.3). Kayla Truesdell took the shot (40-1 1/2) and discus (120-9 1/2), Emma McPeek captured the high jump (4-10) and Izzy Daugherty won the 200 (1:05.5). The Panthers also took the 4×100 (54.8) and 4×400 (4:40.3) relays.
GIRLS TENNIS
Bears nip Olympians
Columbus East coach Matt Malinsky mixed up his lineup, putting his top two players at No. 1 doubles, but Shelbyville won three three-set matches to hand the Olympians a 3-2 loss.
Megna Chari and Kathryn Hodzen beat Sam Watson and Alex Watson 6-0, 6-2 at No. 1 doubles. The other win for East (1-2) came at No. 2 singles, where Louna Prince downed Carrina Jones 6-4, 7-5.
The Olympians’ Emie Kiser fell to Daniela Joseph 6-1, 3-6, 6-4 at No. 1 singles, and Kara Allen lost to Grace Coomes 6-1, 4-6, 6-1 at No. 2 singles. Jenna Shoaf and Maddy Rhodes fell to Addison Munnot and Mckenzie McKay 6-1, 4-6, 7-6 (5).
Eagles defeat Braves
TRAFALGAR — Brown County pulled out a pair of three-set wins to claim a 4-1 WIC win at Indian Creek.
Hallee Miller beat Katie Burkman 3-6, 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, Juila Williams downed Ali Harris 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2 singles and Cassidy Davis topped Alyssa Pruitt 6-3, 6-3 at No. 3 singles for the Eagles (2-3, 1-0). Leah Tucker and Olivia Baughman beat Addie Rund and Brooke Coy 6-1, 6-4 at No. 2 doubles.
Brown County’s Jacey Ferguson and Baelyn Koester fell to Mya Piccone and Mckenzie Hunter 6-1, 4-6, 7-5 at No. 1 doubles.
Lancers get first win
EDINBURGH — Edinburgh claimed its first victory of the season, a 3-2 decision against Bloomington Lighthouse Academy.
Sophia Parmer beat Isabel Greiner 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 at No. 1 singles for the Lancers (1-4). Destiney Ramey and Haven Link blanked Kimmy Curell and Si-On Ki 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 doubles, and Katie Roberts and Anneliese Lollar downed Cynthia Spaetti and Rebekah Mahoney 6-3, 6-3 at No. 2 doubles.
Edinburgh’s Haley Jones fell to Esther Whitney 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 at No. 1 singles. Paige Johnson lost to Abigail Huck 6-3, 6-4 at No. 3 singles.
Cubs clip Cougars
SEYMOUR — Trinity Lutheran won both doubles matches, but Madison swept the singles matches to post a 3-2 victory.
Lauren Fleetwood and Macey Prewitt won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1 doubles, and Cassidy Burnside, Katelyn Mensendiek prevailed 2-6, 6-2, (10-1) at No. 2 doubles for the Cougars (1-1). Courtney Barker fell 6-3, 6-3 at No. 1 singles, Abby Schult lost 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 singles and Lauren Voss fell 6-3, 6-4 at No. 3 singles.

Eagles down Clovers
NASHVILLE — Emma Summers had a double and two RBIs and threw a six-hitter to lead Brown County to a 5-1 WIC win against Cloverdale.
Sara Fishel went 2 for 3 for the Eagles (3-2, 1-1).
South Decatur falls
FAIRLAND — Triton Central scored 15 times in the first three innings on its way to a 16-1, five-inning win against South Decatur.
Chloee Smith went 2 for 3 with a double for the Cougars (0-3).
Trinity loses to Saints
INDIANAPOLIS — Trinity Lutheran was held to two hits in a 3-1 loss at Indianapolis Lutheran.
One of those hits was a home run by Genesis Munoz that tied the game in the fourth. Savannah Harweger had the other hit for the Cougars (2-2), a triple.
BOYS GOLF
Trinity takes tri match
HANOVER — Noah Criswell and Mark Shoemaker each shot 40 to tie for medalist honors and lead Trinity Lutheran to a tri-match win at Butler Falls.
The Cougars finished with a 169 team total. New Washington took second with a 223, and Crothersville was third with a 238.
Jacob Keith carded a 41 for Trinity. Ryland Nierman added a 48, and Josiah Foster had a 53.
