A local man wanted on multiple warrants was caught by a Columbus Police Department canine.
Columbus police officers saw Sage Banks, 21, of 2806 22nd St., in the 2800 block of 22nd Street at 5:25 p.m. Tuesday, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.
Officers confirmed three local warrants had been issued for Banks’ arrest. Banks fled from officers on his bicycle, and officers pursued him through a nearby apartment complex and later into the Columbus Regional Health parking lot, Harris said.
During the pursuit, officers used a police canine to apprehend Banks, Harris said.
Banks was taken to the hospital for medical clearance and later arrested on charges of resisting law enforcement, possession of a legend drug-injection device and the three Bartholomew County warrants, Harris said.
Banks was being held without bond in the Bartholomew County Jail, jail officials said.
