Three arrested on drug charges after report of suspicious vehicle

A report about a suspicious vehicle led to the arrest of three people on drug-related charges.

Bartholomew County Sheriff’s deputy Leah Burton was sent to the area of West County Road 700S and South County Road 100W regarding the vehicle at 6:12 p.m. Friday, deputies said.

Burton found a dark blue Honda parked across from a mobile home, deputies said. When a male standing beside the Honda saw Burton’s vehicle, he ran toward the residence, deputies said.

Deputy Matt Bush arrived to assist in identifying the individuals, while K9 Diesel alerted to narcotics inside the Honda, deputies said.

Nathan Shepherd, 30, of 3570 Nicholas Lane, was arrested on preliminary charges of false informing, possession of methamphetamine, legend drug-injection devices and a Bartholomew County warrant, deputies said. Shepherd was being held in the Bartholomew County Jail in lieu of $126,000 bond, jail officials said.

Justin Sebastian, 33, of 4945 S. County Road 550W, was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of heroin and possession of paraphernalia, deputies said. Sebastian has since been released from the Bartholomew County Jail, jail officials said.

Emily Unsworth, 25, of 740 Smith St., was arrested on preliminary charges of false informing and possession of paraphernalia, deputies said. Unsworth has also been released from jail, jail officials said.
