A man was reportedly shot in the stomach after an altercation at a Columbus mobile home park.
Columbus police were sent to the 3600 block of Lamplight Court at 3:15 p.m. Wednesday about a shooting, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.
A resident who lived there got into an altercation with a group of individuals who showed up at his home, Harris said. The resident shot one of the individuals in the group, a male who was shot one time in the stomach, Harris said.
Police are not identifying the victim at this time, he said. The victim was taken to Columbus Regional Hospital and then taken to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, where he was expected to recover, Harris said.
The 39-year-old Columbus resident suspected in the shooting has not been arrested for that incident, but was arrested later Wednesday on unrelated charges and taken to the Bartholomew County Jail, police said.
An investigation is continuing into the shooting incident and the matter will be turned over to the Bartholomew County Prosecutor’s Office, Harris said.
