• the group of teens who noticed a man following my daughter as she was walking to her car after prom and walking with her so that she wasn’t alone.

• the kind lady who helped me up when I fell outside of the courthouse on Monday.

• Tom Dell for the tree in Ninth Street Park in remembrance of our neighbor, Bert Held.

• Hailey, Shirley and Natalie from Columbus Food Co-op for coming to the Ninth Street Area Neighborhood Watch Group meeting and sharing about the co-op.

• the Bartholomew County Public Library for the outstanding reference desk and also Mary Clare Speckner for the library’s wonderful programs.

• CSA — Lincoln Principal Brett Findley for embracing Bike to School Day and organizing a fun morning ride for students.

• the Columbus Police Department for keeping the 101 participants of Bike to School Day safe on our journey to school, from CSA — Lincoln.

• the CSA — Lincoln PTO for the Staff Appreciation Week treats, from the CSA — Lincoln staff.

• the horticulture class at Hauser High School and ag teacher Aleesa Dickerson for selling such beautiful plants at the plant sale Friday and Saturday, and the students who helped grow the plants and all who bought plants.

• Larry, the car salesman at Bob Poynter, for his true professional wisdom, honesty and integrity, from a pleased customer, Stuart.

• the mother who keeps using her disabled son’s money for her coffee.

• parents who think that bullying their children’s teachers is an effective way to teach their children to be kind, responsible and respectful people.

• administrators who do nothing to support teachers when disrespectful parents make unreasonable demands.

• the resident flying a Confederate flag on a flagpole.

• the people of Bartholomew County for voting in the same people who just raised our taxes 40 percent.

• Democrats running in the Republican Party just so they have a chance to win.

• businesses that rope off their parking lots, leaving nowhere to park near downtown businesses.

• to the irresponsible dog owners in Richards addition.

• the restaurant that lets employees go outside, smoke and throw cigarette butts on the ground that customers see as they walk in.

• the people who use credit or debit cards in the drive-thru and slow down the line for everyone.
