Deputies interrupt burglary in progress, arrest Taylorsville man

Bartholomew County Sheriff deputies interrupted a burglary in progress and arrested a Taylorsville man who attempted to flee.

The deputies were sent to the 2700 block of Perry Drive at 2:18 a.m. Friday about the burglary in progress. Sgt. Kris Weisner saw a vehicle leaving the residence and attempted to stop it, deputies said.

The driver, identified as Timothy Hill, 34, of 9125 Friendship Drive in Taylorsville, refused to stop until he reached Main Street in Taylorsville, deputies said.

Hill admitted to having been at the residence and having recently used methamphetamine, deputies said.

Hill was arrested on preliminary charges of criminal trespass, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs and resisting arrest by fleeing in a vehicle, deputies said.
