Jets rout Yellow Jackets

MORRISTOWN — Shelby Fugate hit for the cycle in going 4 for 4 with four RBIs Monday to lead Class A No. 6 Hauser to a 16-3, five-inning Mid-Hoosier Conference win at Morristown.

Sydney Schoen went 3 for 4 with two triples and three RBIs for the Jets (16-4, 10-1). Zoee Nading went 2 for 3, Kristen Keith went 2 for 4 with a double and a triple, Hunter Crain went 2 for 4 and threw a three-hitter, Mykenzie Ault and Katie Taylor each went 2 for 4 and Hannah Johnson had two RBIs.

Lancers no-hit Mohawks

EDINBURGH — Maddi Clark threw a five-inning no-hitter and went 2 for 3 with a double to lead Class A No. 8 Edinburgh to a 10-0 MHC win against Waldron.

Sidney Beier went 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs for the Lancers (12-7, 10-1). Kaitlyn Bailey went 2 for 4.

Chargers nip Cougars

GREENSBURG — South Decatur scored twice in the top of the seventh, but left runners at second and third in a 7-6 MHC loss at North Decatur.

Sierra Lang went 3 for 4 with a triple and four RBIs for the Cougars (4-13, 4-7). Sam Goodfellow went 2 for 4 with a double and a triple.

Milan overcomes Trinity

MILAN — Trinity Lutheran led 6-2 after 4½ innings, but Milan rallied for a 9-6 victory.

Jodi Goecker had two hits, including a triple for the Cougars (8-8). Sami Newmister had two RBIs.

Jets roll to victory

MORRISTOWN — Class A co-No. 1 Hauser trailed Morristown 2-0 after two innings before rallying for a 15-2 MHC win at Morristown.

Trey Johnson threw a one-hitter and went 2 for 3 with a double and three RBIs for the Jets (16-9, 11-0). He leads the state with 47 RBIs this season.

Alex Pattingill went 2 for 3, and Sean Miller went 2 for 4 with two RBIs. Kameron Lawson and Parker Eickbush each had a triple and two RBIs.

Lancers blank Mohawks

EDINBURGH — Zach Murphy threw a two-hitter with 11 strikeouts and went 2 for 2 with a homer and two RBIs to lead Edinburgh to a 10-0 MHC win against Waldron.

Ethan Armel went 3 for 3 with a double, a homer and two RBIs for the Lancers (10-9, 8-3). Gabe Wilson went 2 for 3, and Colton Henderson went 1 for 1 with three RBIs.

Cougars win again

SEYMOUR — Trinity Lutheran picked up its seventh consecutive win, an 8-1 decision against Southwestern (Shelby).

Chandler Reynolds had three hits, and Jack Marksberry added two for the Cougars (14-7-1). Reynolds and Trent Shoemaker each had two RBIs.

Eagles topple Jets

NASHVILLE — Parker VanNess won medalist honors with a 35 to lead Brown County to a 180-197 win against Hauser at Salt Creek.

Ben Rygiel carded a 46 for the Eagles. Brendon Asher added a 49, Curtis Lookebill shot 50, Peyton Proctor had a 60, Rex Watters finished with a 62, Bob Cao added a 65 and Emery Brock had a 67.

Justin Compton led the Jets with a 36. Ethan Wallace carded a 51, Sam Johnson added a 53, Matt Sweet shot 57, Justin Stafford had a 65 and Keegan Miller finished with a 71.

Cougars top Panthers

SEYMOUR — Mark Shoemaker won medalist honors with a 42 to lead Trinity Lutheran to a 177-183 win against Jennings County at Shadowood.

Ryland Nierman added a 43 for the Cougars. Noah Criswell and Jacob Keith each shot 46, and Josiah Foster had a 54.

Bryce Kirchner, Adam Leach and Austin Roscoe all shot 44 to lead the Panthers. Joe Kelly added a 51, and Justin Gasper had a 53.

Panthers edge Trojans

ST. LEON — Jennings County wrapped up the regular season with a 3-2 win at East Central.

Hailey Brown beat Carly Kane 6-0, 6-4 at No. 2 singles, and Ellie Hearne downed Maddie Richter 6-4, 6-4 at No. 3 singles for the Panthers (13-5). Maddy Hill and Callie Wilder topped Jaylen Hilbert and Abby Bischoff 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles.

Jennings’ Rebecca Driver fell to Maddie Davidson 6-3, 6-4 at No. 1 singles. Courtney Lykins and Abigail DeCamp lost to Brooke Stonefield and Grace Kraus 7-6 (5), 7-5 at No. 2 doubles.

Spartans stop Trinity

SHELBYVILLE — Southwestern (Shelby) won four matches in straight sets to hand Trinity Lutheran a 4-1 loss to close the regular season.

Cassidy Burnside and Katelyn Mensendiek won 6-3, 6-4 at No. 2 doubles for the Cougars (5-9). Courtney Barker fell 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, Abby Schult lost 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2 singles, Lauren Voss fell 6-0, 6-2 at No. 2 singles and Macey Prewitt and Lauren Fleetwood lost 6-4, 6-3 at No. 1 doubles.
