Drew Smith won medalist honors with a 38 to lead Columbus North to a 159-165 win against Seymour at Harrison Lake.

Jacob Niedbalski carded a 39 for the Bull Dogs. Henry Kiel and Reese Moore each shot 41, Luke VanDeventer added a 42 and Jackson Kerber had 44.

East nips New Albany

Columbus East pulled out a 164-165 win against New Albany at Otter Creek.

Kody Reynolds led the Olympians with a 40. Mark Mayhew and Adrian Adams each shot 41, Avery Foist carded a 42, Layton Erfmeier added a 48 and Cole Schafer had a 52.

Columbus Christian falls

Columbus Christian led 1-0 after one inning, but Suburban Christian rallied for a 12-2, six-inning win.

The Crusaders (1-8) were held to four hits.

Eagles take seventh

NASHVILLE — Eli Snider and Grant Suding combined on a three-hitter to lead Brown County to a 6-3 win in the WIC seventh-place game.

Isaiah Luenebrink went 3 for 3 with two RBIs for the Eagles (7-14). Suding went 2 for 3 with a double, and John Wayne Ziegler had three RBIs.

Jets rout Jackets

HOPE — Class A No. 1 Hauser wrapped up an unbeaten MHC season with a 14-4, six-inning win against Morristown.

Jordan Johnson went 2 for 2 with two RBIs, and Parker Eickbush went 2 for 2 with a triple for the Jets (17-9, 12-0). Trey Johnson went 2 for 3 with two doubles and two RBIs.

Panthers stop Stars

NORTH VERNON — Jennings County scored seven runs in the second inning in a 7-1 win against Bedford North Lawrence.

Justin Rennemeier went 2 for 2 for the Panthers (3-17). Owen Deaton had three RBIs.

Cougars fall to Chargers

GREENSBURG — North Decatur scored 11 times in the first inning and went on to hand South Decatur a 14-2, five-inning MHC loss.

Brogan Howard had the lone hit for the Cougars (4-16, 4-8).

Eagles claim WIC title

NASHVILLE — Brown County captured the Western Indiana Conference title with a 2-1 win against Northview.

Emma Summers threw a two-hitter for the Eagles (14-3). Allison Stogsdill went 3 for 4 with a walkoff single with one out in the bottom of the seventh.

Chargers top Cougars

GREENSBURG — North Decatur scored in every inning in handing South Decatur a 21-4, five-inning MHC loss.

The Cougars (4-14, 4-8) managed eight hits.

GIRLS Tennis

Jets edge Tigers

FAIRLAND — Triton Central pulled out a pair of three-set wins to hand Hauser a 3-2 loss to close the regular season.

Alana Owen beat Abi Eck 6-3, 6-1 at No. 2 singles, and Melanie Taylor downed Rose Wilfong 7-6, 4-6, 7-6 at No. 3 singles for the Jets (7-5).

Hauser’s Madie Sherman fell to Hannah Duncan 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 at No. 1 singles. Abby Johnson and Sarah Tedder lost to Maya Chandler and Rylie Stephens 7-5, 3-6, 6-4 at No. 1 doubles, and Kylie Lock and Carly Archer fell to Emily LeMasters and Colleen Sanders 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2 doubles.
