Staff Reports
The Alliance for Substance Abuse Progress in Bartholomew County will host a Project Prevent Technical Assistance Training from 1 to 2 p.m. June 1.
The training will be at the Heritage Fund — The Community Foundation of Bartholomew County, 538 Franklin St. Any Bartholomew County nonprofit organization is encouraged to send someone to learn more about Project Prevent grants that are now available.
The purpose of Project Prevent is to quickly engage the local community in understanding and sharing facts about opioids, the consequences of inappropriate uses and helping fund prevention-focused initiatives focused on youth from pre-K to age 25. Project Prevent is funded through the Mark and Wendy Elwood Substance Abuse Prevention Fund.
Grants are available for youth-service organizations, faith-based groups, clubs, teams or other groups that are nonprofit and tax exempt. Grant applications are available at heritagefundbc.org.
For more information, visit asapbc.org. Those interested in attending the training are asked to RSVP to Nicki Vreeland at nvreeland@crh.org or by calling 812-376-5092.
