The following closings have been announced for Memorial Day weekend, including Monday, which is Memorial Day.
- All Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicle branches will be closed Saturday through Monday. Branches resume regularly scheduled business hours on Tuesday. For a complete list of branch locations and hours, or to complete an online transaction, visit myBMV.com.
- Columbus City Hall is closed on Monday.
- There will be no Columbus trash/compost/recycling/brush collections on Monday. Collections will run one day behind with June 1’s collection to be on Saturday, June 2. Remember to have toters out by 7 a.m.
- Columbus City Utilities will be closed Monday and reopen at 8 a.m. Tuesday. If you have a problem with your water or sewer service, call the business office at 812-372-8861 and follow the prompts.
- Bartholomew County offices are closed Monday.
- The Bartholomew County Solid Waste Management District Office and Columbus/Bartholomew County Recycling Center, 720 S. Mapleton St., will be closed Monday. The Bartholomew County Landfill, 811 E. County Road 450S, will be closed Monday. All locations will reopen on Tuesday with normal business hours, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
