Facing off against rival Columbus East and Providence, the Columbus North boys golfers were able to avenge their loss to the Olympians earlier in the season winning the meet with a score of 157.
The Olympians placed second with 161. Providence shooting took third with a 166.
Struggling early on, shooting 4-over through his first four holes, Henry Kiel pulled it together late with three birdies at Holes 5, 6 and 8 to finish the round with a 37 and earn medalist honors to lead the way for the Bull Dogs.
“It’s good shooting 1-over after a bad start,” Kiel said. “You can learn from it. Keep sticking with it, and don’t give up.”

Drew Smith finished with a 39. for North. Jackson Kerber shot 40, while Jacob Niedbalski rounded out the scoring for the Bull Dogs with a 41. Reese Moore and Cameron Ziegler each shot 42.
“We didn’t get off to a great start, but I think they really showed some resilience and hung in there,” North assistant coach J.K. Keach said. “Its one thing for coaches to tell kids to play smart and to hang in there and not give up early. But when they can see one of their teammates run into adversity, hang in and grind it out and turn a potentially bad round into a good one, it goes a long way.”
East was led by 39s from Kody Reynolds and Mark Mayhew. Avery Foist shot a 41, and Adrian Adams finished out the scoring with a 42. Layton Erfmeier added a 46, and Cole Schaefer had a 50.
“I’m proud of the way we played. Harrison Lake is a tight course. You have to play in the fairway,” Olympian assistant coach Gunnar Ranard said. “There is a stroke here or there, but I’m proud of them for the most part.”
