Deputies arrest four after traffic stop for stolen license plate

Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department deputies arrested four people in a vehicle heading south on U.S. 31 after noting the car’s license plate had been reported stolen.

Deputy Adam Warner saw the silver Chrysler car with the stolen plate at 10:07 p.m. Thursday turning on to West Tellman Road when he also saw one of the occupants throwing something from the vehicle, deputies said.

The item was later recovered and identified as marijuana, deputies said.

The car was stopped and deputies found drugs and drug-related items inside the vehicle, deputies said. Investigators determined that a registration renewal sticker affixed to the stolen license plate was also stolen from another vehicle.
