Marketplace: Bridge receives award of excellence

Butler University Professor Scott Bridge, a Columbus resident, has been awarded the Butler University Parent Council’s 2017-2018 Award of Excellence.

The honor is given to a faculty member who exemplifies “a helpful nature and concern for students and has contributed to students’ learning and development,” according to Butler.

Bridge graduated from Butler in 1982 and earned his master’s degree in 1991. He was nominated by three families and was praised for the time and mentorship that he has shown to students.

After graduating from Butler, Bridge joined the university professionally in 1987 to serve as news director for the campus radio and television stations.

He served as an adjunct faculty member in the media arts department throughout the 1990s and late 2000s. He joined the faculty full-time in 2010 as a broadcast journalism instructor and serves as academic advisor and internship director for Butler’s College of Communication.
