Columbus police arrested two people on drug charges after a traffic stop.
Officer Drake Maddix saw Christina D. Sullivan, 42, Columbus, driving a vehicle in the 1700 block of Cottage Avenue at 2:40 a.m. Saturday and confirmed her license was suspended, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.
Maddix confirmed the license suspension after stopping the vehicle and speaking with Sullivan and passenger Ricky A. Schoonover, 30, Columbus, Harris said.
A police dog later alerted to the odor of narcotics coming from Sullivan’s vehicle, Harris said. Officers located methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia as well as medication that was not prescribed to either of the two, Harris said.
Sullivan was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while suspended with a prior conviction, jail officials said.
Schoonover was arrested on a preliminary charge of possession of methamphetamine, jail officials said.
