Local man arrested on drug-related charges after traffic stop

Bartholomew County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a local driver on drug-related charges after a traffic stop at Central Avenue and Poshard Drive.

Deputies said Sgt. Jason Lancaster stopped a vehicle driven by Craig Hatfield, 39, Scipio, at 12:51 a.m. Tuesday.

During the stop, Lancaster discovered about one-half ounce of methamphetamine inside Hatfield’s vehicle, deputies said.

Marijuana, drug paraphernalia and evidence that Hatfield was dealing methamphetamine was also located, deputies said.

Hatfield was arrested on preliminary charges of dealing in methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia, jail officials said.
