1) Although I was never cool enough to ride a skateboard or be friends with a skater, I come from the “skateboarding is not a crime” generation that came up in the early- to mid-’90s, and I appreciate the spirit of the sport. So I’m heartened and excited to see that, these days, skateboarding is not only not a crime, it’s a passion fostered by the city of Columbus. Residents are invited to a community input meeting regarding the Jolie Crider Memorial Skatepark, 5:30 p.m. today at the Hamilton Community Center Ice, 2501 Lincoln Park Drive. 2) Celebrate Brazilian culture at Festa Junina, 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Mill Race Center, 900 Lindsay St. in Columbus.
