Letter: Bank’s generous donation benefits youth

From: Chuck Kime, Foundation for Youth executive director

Columbus

Foundation for Youth received a special 90th birthday present from First Financial Bank on June 13. A check for $100,000.00 was presented to our organization at a meet-and-greet with the bank’s top executives, Claude E. Davis and Archie Brown.

The bank’s generosity and support for the youth of Columbus is humbling.

This gift will help us ensure that those kids “who need us most” continue to benefit from all that FFY has to offer. We have met the changing needs of Columbus kids since 1928. In 2018, our kids face challenges very different than 90 years ago.

From peer and media pressures to the opioid crisis and the challenges for low-income families, it has never been more important for kids to have a community that helps them build the assets for success. This is equally true as we strive to solve “grown-up” challenges. Our kids are the answer to concerns for our future workforce. They are the answer to continuing our commitment to growth, diversity and creativity.

This is a spectacular investment by First Financial Bank. With this commitment, FFB joins the likes of the Elwood family, the Heritage Fund, the City of Columbus and many others who support our kids. It is a great example of the increasing commitment our community is showing “those who need us most” and “those that matter to us most.”

So while our kids create, build, explore, invent, play, swim, kayak and make new friends, they’re preparing for our future.
