Two Columbus men arrested after traffic stop

Columbus police arrested two local men on drug-related charges after they were stopped for a minor traffic violation Wednesday morning.

Officer Drake Maddix saw the traffic violation near Hege and Vermont avenues at 1:45 a.m. Wednesday, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

He identified the men as James B. Wise, 39, of 3865 Rosewood Lane, and Joshua D. Bean, 40, of 3845 E. Carol Court, Harris said.

When speaking with the two, Maddix saw a corner-cut bag fall from Bean’s hand, Harris said. The officer also saw that Wise appeared to have narcotics inside his open wallet, which was visible during the interaction, Harris said. Officers also located a digital scale containing white powder while searching the vehicle, Harris said.
