HOPE — The town of Hope will host more than 60 visitors from across Indiana today.
The Bartholomew County town of 2,100 was chosen as site of the year’s second Indiana Main Street community exchange, sponsored by the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs.
Visitors who will be arriving in Hope are mostly from communities with Indiana Main Street programs, which encourage the revitalization and restoration of downtown areas. Hope was accepted into the program in May 2015.
Today’s program at the Willow Leaves restaurant will include extensive discussions on historic restoration and preservation of communities, said Susan Thayer Fye, executive director of Main Street of Hope.
That information will include the sharing of potential state and federal funding sources that should be valuable to Hope, Fye said.
Efforts have been made to ensure the visitors have time today to browse in shops around the Historic Hope Town Square, she said.
