CPD’s lip sync video has more than 1.6 million views

Accident scene in Jackson County in the northbound lanes of I-65.

Columbus Police Department’s lip sync video featuring a cameo by NASCAR champion Tony Stewart had more than 1.6 views by mid-day Tuesday, having been shared more than 55,000 on social media within the first 24 hours.

It may have helped that Stewart got into the fun too, sharing the video on his Facebook page with the comment, “And the Oscar for best supporting actor goes to ….” with a smile face.

Officers posted the video at mid-day Monday, which immediately went viral on social media. Comments are coming in from all over the world, including one from Ireland, said Lt. Matt Harris, police department spokesman who also has a solo to a Miley Cyrus song in the video.
