Columbus native and singer and director Quinn Lemley is bringing two shows to the Chicago area, where area residents can catch her work on the stage and behind the scenes.
Lemley is making her directorial debut in “Rebel Rebel: The Many Lives Of David Bowie” 7:30 p.m. Aug. 23 at the 900-seat Arcada Theatre in St. Charles, Illinois, 45 miles west of Chicago. Tickets range from $19 to $49.
She also will star in a revised version of her longtime one-woman show, “Rita Hayworth: The Heat is On!” in the 150-seat Club Arcada, located on the third floor of the theater at 105 E. Main St. Tickets for the 9 p.m. shows Aug. 24-25 are $25.
In the Bowie show, three different performers capture the energy of Bowie’s characters Ziggy Stardust and others, backed by a six-piece rock band.
The Hayworth show features more than 20 hit songs from the performer’s life and career, including “Put the Blame On Mame,” and “Bewitched.”
