Westside Community Church — Pastor Dennis Aud will lead the 10 a.m. service Sunday at the church, 124 Tipton Lakes Blvd. His message, “Standing in the Gap,” will include Scripture from Ezekiel 2:23-31. The children’s program through grade 6 will meet at the same time as the service.

Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Columbus — The Rev. Nic Cable will deliver the message, “What Holds Us?,” at the 10 a.m. service on Sunday at the church, 7850 W. Goeller Blvd., Columbus.
The message will explore the idea of Unitarian Universalism as a “people of covenant” rather than of creed or dogma. The talk will discuss the past and future of the faith community.

First Presbyterian — The congregation will celebrate the sacrament of communion on Sunday. Services will include an opportunity for children to learn about and participate in the sacrament. During the 9:30 a.m. service Sunday at the church, 512 Seventh St., the sermon will be “When You Come Together to Eat,” which will reflect on 1 Corinthians 11:17-33. The adult choir will lead worship.
Infant and toddler care will be available from 9:15 a.m. to noon. The men’s and women’s support groups meet at 7 a.m. every Friday. Another support group for working-age men meets at 6:15 a.m. Mondays.

Petersville United Methodist — The Rev. Stormy Scherer-Berry’s sermon will be “Population Two” at the 9 a.m. service Sunday at the church, 2781 N. County Road 500E, Columbus. The liturgist will share scriptures from Matthew 18:19-20 and Teresa Covert will give the children’s message. The theme for the service will be “Christ’s Family is tied together through the blood of Christ.” Communion will be served during the service. Fellowship will follow the service.

Community Church of Columbus — Single and Parenting, a 12-week support group course will be offered Tuesday evenings through Nov. 13 at the church, 3850 N. Marr Road, as part of the Tuesday Connection series. The group will meet each week from 6:30 to 8 p.m. with dinner available between 530 and 6:15 p.m.

The Kiss the Critter fundraiser will be Sept 15. This “Outlaw” edition will pit in-laws against one another. The critter will be a surprise. The event is a fundraiser for church youth group projects.

Petersville United Methodist Church — A community celebration at an outdoor worship service will take place at 10 a.m. Sept. 9 at the church, 2781 N. County Road 500E, Columbus. The celebration will commemorate the 150th anniversary of the church’s founding. Former members and friends of the church are invited to attend. The service and pitch-in will be held on the front lawn of the church. Bring lawn chairs and food to share. Games and fellowship will follow. All are welcome to join the congregation. St. Paul Lutheran Church — A community hymn festival featuring John Behnke will be at 7 p.m. Sept. 14. Behnke is an accomplished organist and emeritus professor of music at Concordia University in Mequon, Wisconsin. He has written more than 400 compositions and arrangements for handbells, organ and choir. The concert is free and all are invite to attend.
