COLUMBUS, Ind. — A gas leak reported in the 5100 block of North Indianapolis Road at 3:28 a.m. today has been repaired, firefighters say.
Columbus Fire Department firefighters and Vectren technicians found gas leaking from a regulator station relief valve, with the leak controlled at 6:08 a.m., said Lt. Mike Wilson, fire department spokesman.
Repairs to the regulator station were made by 7:30 a.m. today, he said.
No evacuations were necessary, but Columbus Police closed Indianapolis Road between Lowell and Long roads until the leak was controlled. That roadway reopened at 6:15 a.m., Wilson said.
