Jets rally past Pirates

HOPE — Hauser overcame a first-set loss Wednesday night to rally for a 22-25, 25-18, 25-20, 25-22 win against Greensburg

Hannah Johnson led the Jets (16-10) with 16 kills and four blocks. Aunaka Wasil recorded 39 assists, Kylie Lock notched 27 digs and Mary Branum served six aces.

Also for Hauser, Marnie Schwartzkopf pounded nine kills and two blocks; Kylie Lock tallied eight kills and two assists and Shelby Fugate added four kills, two blocks, 15 digs and three aces. Melanie Taylor contributed 19 digs and two aces, Johnson had one assist, Wasil provided two blocks and Olivia Wright added one block.

Franklin sweeps Lancers

EDINBURGH — Edinburgh lost to Franklin 25-9, 25-10, 25-10 in the opening round of the Johnson County Tournament.

The Lancers fell to 1-25.

NORTH VERNON — Jennings County finished its regular season with a 1-1 tie against Scottsburg.

Justin Copeland scored the goal for the Panthers (2-14-1). Dreagen Ison recorded three saves.

Braves top Trinity

SEYMOUR — Trinity Lutheran saw its season come to an end with a 4-1 loss to Brownstown Central in the opening round of the Seymour Sectional.

Noah Voelker beat Kelian East 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3 singles for the lone point for the Cougars (2-9).

Trinity’s Jace Crockett fell to Ethan Carlin 6-2, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, and Pierce McCammon lost to Ethan Wischmeier 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles. Cameron Gruenwald and Hunter Morgan fell to Jackson Lahrman and Gunnar Zickler 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles, and Caleb Gruenwald and Luke Pollert lost to Reece Carlin and Max McClure 6-0, 6-3 at No. 2 doubles.
