POLAND, INDIANA
Steven Allen Pickett, 39, passed away Saturday October 13, 2018. He was born in Bartholomew County, Indiana, on July 17, 1979, to Gary Pickett and Gail Cody Wall.
Steve graduated from Edinburgh High School in 1997 and worked as the maintenance supervisor for Republic Services.
He married Hannah Schopmeyer on July 7, 2007 They attended Zion United Church of Christ.
Steve loved spending time with his family. In his free time he enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping. Being a diesel mechanic by trade, he also enjoyed working on vehicles.
He also mentored two children like they were his own, Sarah and Rachel Swank.
Steve was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Elvin and Clara Pickett, as well as his maternal grandparents, George and Margie Cody.
Survivors Include his father, Gary (Connie) Pickett, Edinburgh, Indiana; his mother, Gail (Carlos) Wall, Edinburgh, Indiana; his wife, Hannah Pickett of Poland, Indiana; a son, Cole Pickett, Sullivan, Indiana; daughters, Sarah Mann of Poland, Indiana, and Haley Pickett of Linton, Indiana; stepbrothers, Jeremy Miller, Franklin, Indiana, and Donovan (Misty) Pickett, Edinburgh, Indiana; a sister, Erin (Jason) Chelf, Columbus, Indiana; and several special aunts, uncles and other extended family.
Moore Funeral Home in Brazil was entrusted with Steve’s cremation arrangements.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
